Q. What is the Mission of the Ridgewood Moms Club?

A. Ridgewood Moms Club, Inc. (RMC) is a NJ nonprofit organization. We are a welcoming village dedicated to supporting mothers and families in Ridgewood, NJ. RMC is focused on fostering relationships, providing emotional support, helping navigate community-based resources for families and children, and offering a variety of activities for women, men, couples, children, and families. Anyone interested in supporting families in our community is welcome to join! 

 

Q. How do I join?

A. Please click the Join Us tab, add a new membership to your cart, and fill out the membership form submitting it to the Membership Chair with your annual dues.

 

Q. What is covered with the membership fee?

A. This membership fee covers our community outreach events and operating costs. Please check the new member registration for this year’s rate. Additional fees apply for some events. RMC financials are available upon request; please contact RidgewoodMomsClub@gmail.com with any questions.

 

Q. Are children allowed at the activities?

A. We offer a variety of activities where children are welcome and encouraged to attend – Field Trips, Playgroups, Kids’ Crafts, Family Events and some Community Outreach events.  We also offer adult-only events, which will be specifically noted.

 

Q. How old do my children need to be to join?

A. There is no age limit! Families expecting their first child, as well as families whose children are now in school all day are welcome to join the club. The only requirement for membership is residency in Ridgewood, NJ.

 

Q. I may not be able to attend the events with my child(ren), can I have a caretaker bring my child(ren)?

A. Yes! Caretakers, grandparents, moms, or dads are all welcome to attend events with children. A simple written consent will allow your child(ren) to attend with another adult. Our events are not drop off events (unless otherwise specified), so please make sure there is someone available to supervise your child(ren). 

Q. I am a full-time working parent / I work part-time / I am a stay-at-home parent - can I still join the Ridgewood Moms Club?

A. This is an inclusive club for full-time, part-time, or stay-at-home parents. Our activities and events are hosted throughout weekdays and weekends, and we offer a variety of choices in an attempt to accommodate all families in the community.

 

Q. How can I be more involved in the group?

A. There are lots of ways to be involved in the Ridgewood Moms Club! You can join a playgroup, attend brunches, field trips, kids' crafts, family events, adult events, volunteer with us, or join our board. 

 

Q. Do I have to attend every activity?

A. Not at all! Please attend as many events that suit your interest and your schedule. We ask that you have a current membership to be a part of our social media pages, newsletter, and invitations, so even if you never attend an event, you can still be a part of the group!

 

Q. How do I find out information about joining a playgroup?

A. Once you become a member, you may contact our Playgroup Coordinator, who will help place you into a group that works for you. If there is not an existing one, we can form another one. Someone is always looking to join a playgroup!

Q. I own a home-based business, this sounds like a perfect place to sell my product; can I do that? 

A. We offer support to our community and Ridgewood Moms Club members who are running their own business. Solicitations can be posted on the Ridgewood Moms Club Facebook page once per month. Please contact RidgewoodMomsClub@gmail.com if you have further questions. You must be a current member to post.

 

Q. The RMC sounds great, but I’m concerned about COVID-19, should I still join?

A. The Ridgewood Moms Club board is closely monitoring the CDC guidelines. For the remainder of the current year, we hope to have some outdoor events for adults, following social distancing guidelines. There will also be many virtual events to keep you and your family busy, as well as opportunities posted for activities you might want to explore on your own in the area.

 

Q. Is the RMC an inclusive club?

A. Ridgewood Moms Club supports all members of the Ridgewood, NJ community – regardless of race, sexual orientation or background. We want all families and children to feel welcome at our events. We also welcome feedback and suggestions, you may contact the board at RidgewoodMomsClub@gmail.com
